In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Patoro brand, the Patoro Terre Blanche cigar was created, which got its name "white earth" thanks to the tobacco grown in an area with extremely calcareous soil in the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic. The limestone that is washed down from the Cordillera Septentrional gives this tobacco its specific spicy and savoury flavour.
The Cibao Valley is the most important tobacco-growing region in the Dominican Republic.
The cigar is produced at the De Los Reyes Cigars factory run by Nirka Reyes, who is the daughter of Master Augusto Reyes Vargas and belongs to the sixth generation of a family that has been involved in tobacco processing for more than 160 years. The company's philosophy is: "To make each cigar a luxurious masterpiece of beauty, aroma and flavor. Creating the best is not just an art, but a family tradition.
The blend of filler and binder tobaccos is sourced from the fertile Cibao Valley, where the tobaccos are aged for 4-8 years. The wrapper of the cigar is the "Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade leaf" which is native to plantations in River Valley, Connecticut, USA. This tobacco is aged in the shade, which gives it a milder and sweeter aroma. The tobacco plants were later transported to Ecuador, which has become the largest producer of this type of tobacco.
